Eugene grows suspicious about the presence of another Flynn Rider, so he sets off with Maximus, Rapunzel, and Pascal to investigate. After Rapunzel's Crown is stolen (in the same way as Eugene did in Tangled), Eugene Fitzherbert is handed a WANTED poster with a drawing of 'Flynn Rider' that he thinks it is of himself. I’ve always liked how adorably motherly Takeshi is, cooking in frilly aprons, always capable of keeping a clean house, and caring for his younger friends like his siblings, but no wonder, he was practically mother and father to all nine of his siblings at age 15 (… or even younger in terms of being the mother because his mother ran away first…).Īnd everytime he was called back home by his brothers and sisters to settle disputes or deal with his parents’ shenanigans NO MORE HONEYMOONS, STOP LEAVING THE KIDS ALONE!!Īnd then, there was whatever happened between him and Professor Uchikido (Professor Ivy) back at the start of the Orange Islands arc, who he fell in love with and decided to stay with because he saw she needed someone to clean and cook for her and her asisstants… whatever happened between them led to Takeshi wandering like a vagrant all the way to Masara (Pallet) Town, haggard and drawn, collapsing unconscious just in front of his best friend’s home. So, it’s Takeshi that has to go and put his foot down and reach a better compromise because his father can’t so much as speak up to his own wife and Takeshi really is the parent in this family, isn’t he?! The end of the episode implies that his father, Munou (Flint), will take care of the kids now, but in the special aired as Advanced Generation had begun, his mother had come back and taken over the gym, converting into a Water Type gym and Munou did nothing but run away again! Takeshi had to raise all his siblings alone until the day Satoshi (Ash) came to challenge them. His mother ran away, then, his father followed suit to sell rocks to tourists! Just what happened here?! (In perhaps a bittersweet reference to his own tenth birthday, Takeshi was the one who gave Jirou, the second oldest boy in the striped shirt, Iwaaku/Onix to support him becoming the new Gym Leader… Jirou is also the one who helped Iwaaku evolve into Haganeil/Steelix! 3 ) Takeshi is an old name too, but at least it stands out! They’re very… old-fashioned, uniform names. … and yet, all his following sibings get nothing but number-names, starting from Jirou (second-son) and all the way down to the babies, Kurou (ninth-son) and Toko (tenth-child). Also, I just noticed he has a cute daruma sitting on that chest of drawers.

His father even surprised him with that Iwaaku/Onix as a birthday present.

It’s a good, strong name and if you read the shi as rock, it’s perfect for a future Rock Type Gym Leader. Takeshi (Brock) had a beautiful name with multiple possible meanings: bamboo will and rock mountain.
